Advait Jain
Will there be ROS binaries for Lucid Lynx soon?

Hi Advait,

The binaries for Ubuntu Karmic (09.10) work fine on Lucid (that's what
I'm doing on my workstation). Just follow the Karmic installation
instructions.

I also had issues with Lucid binaries.  They functioned error-free for
the most part, but occasional "common" actions would cause segfaults.
The two canonical examples I recall were tf view_frames and some items
in rviz.

This was the week prior to the PR2 training workshop.  I ditched the
binaries, installed from source, and had no additional problems.  I
cannot speak for any changes in the binaries from the past two weeks.

Advait,
We're working toward Lucid native binaries.  We need to bring up new machines in the test and build infrastructure to do that.  Hopefully in the next couple weeks this will be complete.
